Services
Rose Care, Advice, Pruning & Training:
Experienced in working with all types of roses, using only natural and non-synthetic methods of care and disease control. I have successfully restored many old and tired Roses. As well as offering a pruning and training service, I can assist you in selecting new roses for your garden, creating rose themed beds and borders as well as issues relating to replant disease.
Specialist Garden Maintenance:
A one-off or routine maintenance service provided according to your gardens needs. This service focuses on the more complex gardening duties such as the pruning of woody plants, care of beds and borders, planting, container displays and most importantly mulching and other types of soil care. I am particularly experienced in the maintenance of displays in Historic & Botanic Gardens.
Planting Plans & Development:
Forming part of my Garden Design service or offered as a stand-alone service. Planting plans are created to suit your lifestyle and the context of your site, and understanding of the ‘right plant right place’ mantra. Existing planting in your garden can be developed, renovated or new combinations created. An aftercare service and maintenance guide can also be provided.
Garden Design:
Every garden I create is done so with an understanding for its maintenance. After a face-to-face consultation, site visit and survey, together we establish a Brief; this will form the foundation to every design. If necessary a topographical land survey may be required from which I can base all future drawings. A concept plan is then presented, discussed and revised until you are happy with the final Masterplan.
Horticultural Consultation:
A consultation is informed entirely by you and your garden objectives. You may want some design or horticultural advice such as plant health issues or plant identification. In the first instance, we discuss your requirements over the phone prior to meeting. Recent consultations include: advising on replanting for pollinators and the restoration of a historic garden.
Gardening Coach:
For those lacking confidence or knowledge in their own gardens or wishing to develop their horticultural skills further. Working on a one-to-one basis or in a small group, we can cover a whole range of topics from propagation, maintenance, to plant identification. Depending on the topic, I can offer coaching in your own garden or at another garden under prearrangement.
